Unfortunately, there are many historic buildings neglected or degraded by the expansion sigh of recent decades in Aruba. In the realization of hotels and other facilities for the tourists some of the historical heritage of the Caribbean island is lost.
The oldest building in Aruba, Fort Zoutman in 1797, still stands proud. In addition, there are more historical and colonial buildings to visit.
Fortunately there is an increasingly monument policy on Aruba to restore the beautiful objects that are built according to the West Indian style and kept in good condition for future generations. www.beautiful-aruba.nl
